It is reported by at-Tabarani that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: РІР‚СљThe one who recites Ayat al-kursi after the conclusion of an obligatory prayer, he is under the care of Allah until the next prayer commences.РІР‚Сњ Abu Amamah (Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said that whomsoever recites Ayat al-Kursi in the night before sleeping, Allah Most High will protect him, his house and the neighbouring houses.Р”Р„bu Dhar (radiAllahu anhu) said O Messenger of Allah, what is the greatest thing that has been revealed to you?РІР‚в„ў He said, Ayat al-Kursi, РІР‚ВAllah! La ilaha illa HuwaРІР‚в„ў Anas (Allah be well pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said that Ayat al-Kursi is equal to a quarter of the Quran. Р”Р„bu Hurayrah (Allah be well pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said that Ayat al-Kursi is the chief of all verses of the Quran. Similarly, whomsoever reads this during the night, will remain under the protection of Allah Most High until the morning. Ubayy bin KaРІР‚Вb (Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that one day, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) asked РІР‚СљO Ubayy! What is the most excellent verse of the Quran?РІР‚Сњ Ubayy replied, РІР‚СљAllah and His Messenger know best.РІР‚Сњ The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, РІР‚СљIn your opinion, what is the most excellent verse of the Quran?РІР‚Сњ Ubayy bin KaРІР‚Вb replied, РІР‚СљAllah РІР‚вЂњ There is no god but HeРІР‚Сњ(i.e. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory). Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth.

Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal.
